Rittle, 79, passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at the Good Samaritan Hospital. He was the husband of Alice B. (Moore) Rittle. Harold was born in Lebanon, on October 6, 1931. He was the son of the late Henry and Esther (Mitchell) Rittle. Prior to his retirement in 1986, Harold worked as a carpenter at the Lebanon VA Medical Center for 35 years. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a social member of The Friendship Fire Company in Lebanon. Harold enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Rosalie A., wife of Ted Pavalonis of Bainbridge; a brother, Kenneth Rittle of Lebanon; two grandchildren, Emily and Brandon; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Richard Rittle, Raymond Matters, Richard "Coopie" Wentzel, and Bernard Rittle; and two sisters, Dorothy Parpagene and Helen Matters. Visitation Wednesday morning from 9:30 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Funeral service Wednesday 10:30 a.m. at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., 126 S. 9th St., Lebanon 17042.
