Roethlein PALMYRA Karen Ruth (Glassmoyer) Roethlein, 65, died on Friday, September 30, 2011 in York County as a result of an automobile accident. She was born Monday, May 20, 1946 in Lebanon to the late Walter and Florence (Salkeld) Glassmoyer. She was a lifetime member of the Girl Scouts of America. She previously served as the Neighborhood Chair of Palmyra and as a Troop Leader in both Palmyra and Hershey. In recent years she was active in civil war reenactments with the 93rd Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry Reenactors. Karen combined her love of civil war history and sewing as the sole proprietor of Taddy's Togs, where she made period correct clothing. She is survived by her three children, James Roethlein of Palmyra, Carole (Roethlein) Meyer of Northampton, Mass, and Gail Roethlein of Palmyra. She was interred in Grandview Memorial Park in North Annville Township in a private ceremony. A memorial service will be held at the First Evangelical Congregational Church, 55 West Main St., Palmyra, 17078 on Saturday, November 5, at 10 a.m. with Rev. Jan R. Fryer officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 West Pine St., Palmyra. The family has requested no flowers.
