Sattazahn, 75, formerly of Host, died Wednesday, June 8, 2011, at the Berks Heim, Leesport. She was the wife of Robert L. Sattazahn, to whom she was married 57 years on April 10, 2011. Born in Lebanon, on November 26, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Nick and Mary (Gassert) Rothenbach. She was a self employed farmer in Stouchsburg, Myerstown, and Host, from 1955-2001 and enjoyed milking her Holsteins and unloading hay bales. A 1953 graduate of Myerstown High School, she was a member of Trinity U.C.C., Rehrersburg, taught Bible School for many years, enjoyed country music, hoe-down dancing, crocheting, watching TV, and collecting Holstein collectibles. A life member of the Marion Grange, Stouchsburg, she served on various committees and held various offices and, along with her husband, was selected as the first PA State Grange Young Married Couple in 1969, and in 1972 her family was selected as the Berks Co. Outstanding Farm Family. Additionally, she was a member of the Berks Co. Farm Women's Group #5, hosted a Fresh Air Child for many years, and was involved in 4-H activities. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Rebecca S., wife of Tony Harakel of Bernville; sons, Nick R., husband of Nancy Sattazahn of Hamburg, George D., husband of Dianne Sattazahn of New Tripoli, and Clark R., husband of Tracey Sattazahn of Deer Lake; grandchildren, Michael Davis, Joshua Sattazahn, and Dylan Sattazahn; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Samantha Davis; several nieces and nephews; sister, Mary Bickel of Lebanon; and brother, Raymond, husband of Ginger Rothenbach of Baltimore, Md. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Jonathan Sattazahn, and an infant grandchild. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 13, 2011, at 11 a.m. from Trinity U.C.C., 27 Maria St., Rehrersburg. Viewing Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Grose Funeral Home, 358 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown, and Monday 10 a.m. at the church. Interment at St. John's "Host" Cemetery, Bernville. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
