  LEBANON Dino Scarcia, 89, formerly of Palmyra, passed away peacefully, 
  surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at the Good 
  Samaritan Hospital in Lebanon. He was born September 13, 1921, in Assergi, 
  Italy to the late Domenic and Assunta (Corrieri) Scarcia. He was predeceased by 
  his loving wife, Catherine L. (Facchinei) Scarcia; an infant son, Gilbert 
  Scarcia; a brother, Anthony Scarcia. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving during 
  WWII. He had a career in major appliance sales and service. His hobbies 
  included cooking, painting, community theater, and gardening. He was a member 
  of The Church of the Holy Spirit, Italian Club of Hershey, Campbelltown 
  American Legion, Post 831, Palmyra V.F.W. Post 6417 and Myerstown V.F.W. Post 
  6076. He is survived by a daughter, Denise Shepherd and husband, Austin Regis 
  of Bethel, Conn.; a son, Joseph Scarcia and wife Andrea of Harrisburg; a 
  daughter, Sue Ann Barry and husband Philip of Lititz; four grandchildren; three 
  great-grandchildren; two brothers, Valentino and Leno Scarcia; and three 
  sisters, Nancy Beitel, Lena Cerulli, and Eleanor Heffner. Mass of Christian 
  Burial will be celebrated Saturday at noon at The Church of the Holy Spirit, 
  245 W. Pine St., Palmyra, PA 17078, with Father James F. Podlesny as celebrant. 
  Burial will be private in Hershey Cemetery, Hershey. Rothermel Funeral Home & 
  Cremation Services, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra, has been entrusted with the 
  arrangements.
