M. shabodeho@aol.com July 29, 2011, 10:36 pm Published in Lebanon Daily News on July 24, 2011 Dorothy Schneiter PALMYRA Dorothy (Korth) Schneiter, 84, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 22, 2011, at the Lebanon Valley Brethren Home. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Alvin Arnold Schneiter. She was born on Friday, November 19, 1926, in Fond du Lac, Wis., to the late William and Anna (Hagenau) Korth. She was a long time member of the Bindnagle Lutheran Church, Palmyra, where she participated on church council and sang in the choir. She graduated from Winnebago Lutheran Academy in Wisconsin. After moving to Pennsylvania, she was very active with a number of musical organizations, to include the Keys-Tone Khords Barbershop Quartet, Sweet Adelines Chorus, Lebanon Bells of Harmony Chorus, and the Grammaphone Barbershop Quartet. She is survived by two sons, George R. Schneiter and wife, Linda of Lebanon, and James R. Schneiter of Jersey City, N.J.; a daughter, Barbara A. Risser and husband, Scott of Lexington, Va.; a grandson, Ryan R. Schneiter of New York, N.Y.; a sister, Evelyn Korth of Long Beach, Calif.; and a sister-in-law, Mildred Korth. She was predeceased by a sister, Leona Schmidt, and a brother, William Korth. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Lebanon Valley Brethren Home, Di Matteo Worship Center, 1200 Grubb Road., Palmyra 17078 with Chaplain Norman D. Yeater officiating. Family and friends are invited for viewing from 10 a.m. until time of service at the home. Burial will take place at Grandview Memorial Park Cemetery, Annville. Services have been entrusted to Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra 17078.
