  LONGMONT, CO Elwood 'Woody' Schoener of Longmont, Colo., formerly of Wichita, 
  Kan., died September 17, 2011, at the HospiceCare Center in Louisville, Colo. 
  He was 69. He was born December 15, 1941 in Lebanon, to Paul and Vivian 
  Schoener. Woody enlisted in the United States Air Force on June 22, 1960. 
  During his 20 year Air Force career he saw many duty stations, including 
  Okinawa and Yokota, Japan; Korea; Viet Nam and several stateside air bases as 
  an aircraft electrical systems technician. He retired on June 30, 1980 with 
  the rank of Technical Sergeant. On March 29, 1968, he married Kyong C. Kim. 
  Following the Air Force he went to work for Boeing Aircraft Corporation as an 
  electrical engineer at Wichita, Kansas. He retired in 2004. Woody moved to 
  Longmont in Oct. 2009 from Wichita. He enjoyed building aircraft models. He 
  was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Liebe Schoener on July 
  31, 1985. Woody is survived by his wife, Kim, of Longmont; two daughters, 
  Elizabeth Young and Diana Dolinar, both of Longmont; two grandchildren, 
  Alexandria Young and Aidan Young; and two brothers, Ron Schoener and Paul 
  Schoener. Private family services will be held. Interment at Foothills Gardens 
  of Memory, Longmont. Military honors will be provided by F.E. Warren Air Force 
  Base, Cheyenne, Wyo.
