Schwalm, 90, died Tuesday, August 16, 2011, in the Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. She was the wife of Harold G. Schwalm, Sr. who died in 1991. Born in Lebanon on June 10, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Paul H. and Maude I. Bowman Peifer. She was Elementary School Teacher in the Annville-Cleona School District retiring in 1983 with 20 years of service. June was a 1939 graduate of Annville High School and a 1963 graduate of Penn State University with a degree in Elementary Education. She was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church, Cleona where she served as the Children and Youth Choir Director and an affiliate member of St. John's United Methodist Church, Winter Haven, Fla. She served as the organist for Hammandell Interfaith Church, Winter Haven, FL and was also a member of the Tolerance Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and a past officer of the Order of the Amaranth. Surviving are a son, Harold G. Schwalm, Jr. and wife, Cynthia of Cleona; two daughters, Lynette S. wife of B. L. Choate of Elizabethtown, Paula M. wife of Todd Doney of Lebanon; a sister, Doris M. Jewett of Lebanon; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one niece; one grandniece; one great- grandniece; and one great-grandnephew. She was preceded in death by a grandson, H. Christopher Schwalm. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 9 a.m. from the Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, 618 E. Main Street, Annville. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Viewing will be held from 8 to 9 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
