  JONESTOWN Horace H. "Foozie" Schwartz, 93, passed away Thursday, December 15, 
  2011, in Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. Born on May 27, 1918, in Pine 
  Grove, he was a son of the late Charles H., Sr. and Miriam E. Kimmel Horace 
  and his wife owned and operated the Washington Hotel in Elizabethville. He was 
  a 1936 graduate of Pine Grove High School and loved playing basketball. He 
  served in the Army as a Pfc. with the Medical Department. Horace was a member 
  of the Sattizahn Lutheran Church. He was also a member of the Elizabethville 
  American Legion Post 404 and the Elizabethville Rotary Club. One brother, 
  Charles Schwartz, Jr. preceded him in death. Surviving are his wife of 69 
  years, Anne Richter Schwartz; two daughters, Jane S. Hanson of Guilford, 
  Conn., and Elizabeth Kulka of Santa Fe, N.M.; one son, Horace H. Schwartz, Jr. 
  of Elizabethville,; three granddaughters, Sarah E. Hanson, Rebecca A. Hanson, 
  and Anne E. Kulka; one brother, Clifford Schwartz of Harrisburg; and two 
  sisters, Dollie Hummel of North Carolina and Hazel Keefer of Palmyra. Services 
  will be held in the H.L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., Monday, December 19, 2011, 
  at 10 a.m. Friends will be received for a calling time on Monday from 9:30 to 
  10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the St. John's Lutheran 
  Cemetery, Pine Grove.
