Seaton PALMYRA Genevieve Elizabeth Musich Seaton, 71, died Tuesday, August 30, 2011, at the Penn State Hershey Medical Center. Born January 20, 1940, in Calumet , Mich., she was the daughter of the late Margaret and Joseph Musich. Gen graduated from Calumet High School and was one of 15 women in her graduating class at Michigan College of Mines and Technology, Houghton, Mich. She worked throughout her career as a Medical Technologist, rising to the level of Supervisor in the Core Endocrine Laboratory at the Penn State University Medical Center in Hershey. In retirement, Gen volunteered her time at the Caring Cupboard Food Bank and Holy Spirit Catholic Church, and participated in other charitable activities. She loved dogs, was an avid reader of mystery novels, a whiz at crossword puzzles and Sudoku, and was always ready to play dominos or cards with her family. A great fan of sports, Gen made an annual trip to the U.S. Open Tennis Championships with her husband and close friends. She was loyal to the Detroit professional sports teams and especially enjoyed the championship seasons of the Tigers, Pistons, and Red Wings. One of Grandma Gen's greatest joys was spoiling her grandchildren. She was a caring person who will be sorely missed. Gen is survived by husband, John F. Seaton of Palmyra; sister, Margaret (Peggy) Lanctot of Hubbell, Mich.; brother, Joseph Musich of Calumet, Mich.; children, Michael, Kimberly, and Mark; as well as her grandchildren, Nathan, Joseph (Jojo), and Mia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Frank and John (Jackie) Musich. A private burial is planned at Fort Indiantown Gap Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Rothermel Funeral Home of Palmyra.
