Seiverling, late of Columbia Cottage, Campbelltown, and formerly of Hershey, died Saturday, September 10, 2011. Danny was born to the late Irvin and Alma Seiverling on July 15, 1918. In 1929, Danny entered the Hershey Industrial School (later, the Milton Hershey School) along with a younger brother Richard. Danny was graduated from the Hershey Industrial School in 1936 and from the Lebanon Valley College in 1940. Additionally, he completed graduate work at Purdue University. Danny was an athlete: he played tennis and baseball, and he played and coached basketball. He was an insurance agent for many years for Banker's Life Nebraska (now Ameritas) and was Dauphin County Treasurer for 16 years. He served his community in a number of capacities through the Boy Scouts, on the Hershey Bank Board, in the Optimist Club and in the Rotary Club (Paul Harris Fellow). He served as President of the Milton Hershey School Alumni Association. Danny is survived by his wife of 68 years, Jane Gruber Seiverling of Traditions of Hershey. He is also survived by his three children and their spouses, Kathy and Jim Taylor, Robert and Beverly Seiverling and David and Maisie Seiverling. He had six grandchildren, Christine Taylor Brann (married to Eric Brann), Jay Taylor (married to Connie Taylor), Vinny Seiverling, Phoebe Seiverling, Katie Seiverling, and Laura Seiverling. He also had two great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Garrett Brann. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Joyce Seiverling; and sister-in-law, Gladys Seiverling. He was predeceased by a son, John Daniel, his brother, Richard and his sister, Phyllis Wanner. A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the 3rd floor theatre room at Traditions of Hershey in Campbelltown. His pastor, the Reverend Dr. David Harris will officiate. Interment will be private in Salem United Church of Christ Cemetery, Campbelltown.
