Shenk, 91, formerly of Cleona, died Wednesday, February 9, 2011, in the Lebanon Valley Brethren Home. She was the wife of Edward M. Shenk, who died in 1975. Born in Lebanon, on May 3, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Harry A. and Sadie Bordner Weaver. She was a homemaker, but during WWII was a Bell Telephone Switch Board Operator. Joyce was a graduate of Lebanon High School, Class of 1937 and that same year was named Miss Lebanon. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, Lebanon, and the Mary Circle of the Church, and the Cleona Women's Club. Surviving are a son, Jack E., husband of Mary Beth Shenk of Lancaster; two daughters, Jane E. Shenk of Pensacola, Fla., and Sally, wife of Stuart Ullman of Emmaus; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Harry A. Weaver of Lebanon. She was preceded in death by one brother and four sisters. Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, Annville, is in charge of arrangements.
