Shilling FREDERICKSBURG Erica Joy Shilling, 17, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 25, 2011. Born in Bethel Twp., Berks Co., she was the daughter of Stanton O. and Lyde K. Shilling of Fredericksburg. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her sisters, Stephanie and Judy and her brother, Jason. A graduate of Tulpehocken Area High School, class of 2011, she was a member of the Track and Cross Country teams and an Honor Roll Student. Growing up as a missionary kid, she had the opportunity to experience life in Haiti and Kenya for several years. She was looking forward to returning on a mission trip to Kenya with her father to help build and orphanage for children that lost their parents through the 2007 Kenya election fighting and AIDS. She attended Life Center Ministries and was active in the children's ministry because of her love for the children. She also spent time in her mother's native country, The Netherlands as well as visiting family in France. She worked at the Bethel Twp. Pool in Fredericksburg at the concession stand and at Farmer's Wife Restaurant as a prep cook. She was a joy from the beginning of her life until the very end. A true gift of God and we are thankful to have had for in our lives. The memorial service will be held at the family farm at 1201 Pine Grove Rd., Fredericksburg, PA 17026 at 1 p.m. on Saturday. Following the service there will be a meal and a bonfire in the evening for those who wish to celebrate the life we shared with her. We know she would have liked that a lot. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to S.O.S. for Africa, 201 Dove Rd., Fredericskburg, PA 17026, to help build an orphanage building in Eldoret, Kenya. Her wonderful smile and joy will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Jonestown is handling the arrangements. www.kreamerlumfh.com Published in Lebanon Daily News on June 29, 2011 This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/pafiles/ File size: 2.5 Kb
