M. shabodeho@aol.com August 13, 2011, 9:00 pm Published in Lebanon Daily News on August 7, 2011 Simon B. Siegel LEBANON Simon B. Siegel, 92, died Friday, August 5, 2011, in Cedar Haven. He was the husband of the late Christine Barnhart Siegel, to whom he was married for 55 years. He was born in Philadelphia, on March 9, 1919, son of the late Isaac and Martha Lazin Siegel. He was a 1937 graduate of Lebanon High School and represented the school in '36 & '37 in the Penn Relays which took place in Philadelphia. Simon earned 3 LHS letters for basketball, Track and football and was an avid Philadelphia sports fan. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served his country during WWII. Simon retired as a foreman for the former Park Silk Co. which was located on 9th and Scull Sts. He attended the First Baptist Church, Lebanon. He is survived by his son, Irwin H. Siegel, Lebanon and his daughter, Susan E. wife of James Hinkley, Lebanon. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Herman R. and Stanley N. Siegel. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Rohland Funeral Home, 508 Cumberland St., Lebanon, where a visitation will begin at 9 a.m. until the time of the service. There will be NO VIEWING. Interment will be made in Covenant/Greenwood Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Lebanon VFW Post 23.
