Smeltzer, 85, formerly of Lake Wynonah and Folsom, passed away February 16, 2011, at Spang Crest Manor, Lebanon. She was the wife of the late William W. Smeltzer, Sr who passed away February 1988. Born October 27, 1925 in New Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Bensinger, Srand the late Mary Troy Bensinger. She was a retired beautician. She was a graduate of Pottsville High School. Dorothy was a former member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Folcroft. She was a member and past worthy matron of Verner Memorial Chapter #415 OES, Prospect Park. She was known for her baking, especially donuts and sticky buns. Dorothy enjoyed sewing, travel and loved her family, being especially proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dorothy is survived by daughters, Donna, wife of Duane Stout, MI and FL; Linda Smeltzer, Folsom; son, William W. Jr, husband of Nancy Smeltzer, Myerstown; 4 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sister, Lorraine Weaber, Lebanon; brothers, Charles, husband of Mabel Bensinger, Pottsville; Ronald, husband of Hannah Bensinger, Reading. She was preceded in death by her brother, Clarence Bensinger, Jr. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Dorothy's funeral from the Ruffner-Porterfield Funeral Directors and Cremation Services, Ltd., 890 Isabel Drive, (next to Quentin Circle), Lebanon on Monday February 21, 2011 at 12 Noon, with Rev. Doris Nolan officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 11 AM to 12 Noon. Interment will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
