Catherine A. Snavely 

SAYRE Catherine 'Cassie' A. Snavely, 95, passed away Monday, January 10, 2011, 
at Robert Packer Hospital. She was born December 10, 1915 in Annville, the 
daughter of the late Samuel and Amelia Boyer Scott. Cassie attended S. Lebanon 
High School, graduating in 1933. She married George Snavely in 1935, 
celebrating 32 years of marriage prior to his death. Cassie was a Supervisor at 
Sayre Lingerie, Sayre, moving to this area for her position, retiring in 1987 
after 54 years of faithful service. She was a member of St. John Lutheran 
Church, a member of the 50 plus year club and was active in many of the church 
activities, a former Girl Scout Leader, and a member of the Eastern Star. She 
is predeceased by her husband, George N., 1967; four sisters; and one brother. 
Catherine is survived by her son, George Snavely of Sayre; nieces, Catherine 
Rein of New York City, N.Y., Linda Childers of Plymouth Meeting, Leslie Mack 
and Jerri Buller of Florida; nephews, John Shultz, Jr. and Michael Shultz, Sr. 
of Lebanon. Family and friends may call on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the St. 
John Lutheran Church, 207 Hopkins Street, Sayre, PA. Funeral services will 
follow at 11 a.m. at the Church with the Rev. Richard Mowry officiating. 
Arrangements are under the care of Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation 
Services, Inc., Athens, PA. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
