"Sue" Standish, 72, of Gretna Springs, Manheim, formerly of Cornwall died Saturday, November 12, 2011, in the Penn State M.S. Hershey Medical Center. Born in Quentin, on May 9, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Albert F. Standish, Sr. and Geraldine Joyce Harkins Standish. She was a former employee of Ethan Allen and Armstrong Industries of Lancaster. She was employed by HERCO and worked in Catering at the Hershey Motor Lodge and was a substitute teacher at the Lebanon Career and Technology Center. Sue was a 1957 graduate of Linden Hall, Lititz, where she excelled in music and participated in basketball. In 1961, she graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a degree in Arts and Architecture and was a member of the Pi Mu Sorority. In 2011, she became a proud Penn State Pioneer as an alumnus of 50 years. She was a member of the Lebanon Maennerchor Chorus, Quentin Riding Club, Lebanon Order of the Eastern Star, served as a Board member of the Lancaster Youth Hockey Association and the Pennsylvania State Horseshow Association. Sue was a passionate gardener and loved spending time with her granddaughter, Jordyn. She was an avid Philadelphia Flyers fan, active hockey Mom and equestrian. She cherished her cats Katey and Myles and enjoyed spending time at her cottage in Canada. Surviving are a son, L. Brad A. Standish with whom she lived; a daughter, Dana L. wife of Peter J. Tereszcuk, Jr. of Elkton, Md.; a granddaughter, Jordyn Elisabeth Tereszcuk; a sister-in-law, Janice Standish of Gretna Springs and several cousins. She was preceded in death by a brother, Albert Standish, Jr. Viewing will be held on Monday, November 21, 2011, from the Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, 618 E. Main St., Annville from 5 to 7 p.m. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
