M. shabodeho@aol.com June 19, 2011, 8:58 pm Published in Lebanon Daily News on June 18, 2011 Franklin C. Strack LEBANON Franklin C. Strack, 93, died on Thursday, June 16, 2011, at Cedar Haven. He was preceded in death by wife, Alma nee Krall, and wife, Pauline nee Hoffa. He was born on Sunday, May 5, 1918, to the late Frank C. Strack and Esther R. Strack nee Brandt in Lebanon. He was a lifetime member of Zion "Gosherts" United Church of Christ, where he served as president on church council and in the choir. Franklin helped to organize the PA Farmers Organization. He worked as a Road Foreman for Northern Lebanon Township and was a supervisor for 18 years. He was also on the Lebanon County Planning Commission for 18+ years. Franklin was an avid hunter, fisherman, and Phillies fan. Surviving are son, John F., spouse of Jeanne Strack of Myerstown; grandchildren, David Strack, Terry Strack, Carl Moyer, and Mark Moyer; great- grandchildren, Brett Moyer, Katie Moyer, Jenny Moyer, Dylan Strack, Kendall Achey, and Lacy Strack; sister, Helen Buchter of Claysburg; and brother-in-law, Glen Moyer. Also surviving are Pauline's daughter, Louise Heffelfinger; son, Charles Heffelfinger; grandchildren, Nichole Heffelfinger and Amanda Shuey; and great-grandchildren, Allison Shuey, Elsie Shuey, and Melissa Heffelfinger. Franklin was also preceded in death by daughter, Ruth Moyer; grandchildren, David Moyer and Christian Strack; brother, Allan Strack; and sister, Martha Wenrich. Viewing will be on Tuesday, June 21, 2011, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Zion "Goshert's" United Church of Christ, 1588 Mt. Zion Road, Lebanon. Funeral services will be on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will be at Zion "Goshert's" U.C.C. Cemetery, Lebanon, following the service. Christman's Funeral Home, Inc. is honored to serve the family with the arrangements.
