Strickler, 80, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 11, 2011, at her home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Rev. A. Philip Strickler. Born in N. Annville Twp., on October 31, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Jacob Greenleaf and Esther Bowman Longenecker. She had worked as a secretary of the Ono United Methodist Church. For many years she had taught Sunday School at each church where her husband served as pastor. She also started and directed Children's Church. She enjoyed playing Hawaiian guitar, reading, crafts, making Christmas ornaments for family and especially spending time with her family. She had a sweet and loving spirit and was a blessing to everyone who knew her. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her sons, Eugene J. husband of Nancy Strickler of Jonestown and Calvin E. Strickler of Annville; daughters, Elaine L. wife of Gary Funck of Challis, ID and Carolyn L. wife of Clyde Meyer of Annville; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother Richard Longenecker. Memorial services will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Ono United Methodist Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the convenience of the family at the Grantville Cemetery.
