Taylor Jr. BETHLEHEM Charles Edward Taylor, Jr., 87, died peacefully at home Saturday, August 20, 2011. He was innkeeper, with his wife, Kristina, of historic Wydnor Hall Inn Bed & Breakfast in Lower Saucon for the past 25 years, where he oversaw a four-year restoration of the lovely 1800 property and became bakery chef extraordinaire. He was born in Austinville, Va., a descendant of Civil War officers, served with the Navy during WWII, attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute, and earned a degree in Mining Engineering at Columbia University. He had a 34 year career with Bethlehem Steel, during which he lived in Lebanon, Pottstown, and Bethlehem, before retiring in 1981. Surviving are his wife, Kristina (nee Miskolczy); daughters, Courtney Taylor of Medford, N.J., and Jennifer Parker of Navarre, Fla.; stepson, Gregory Pickard of Medfield, Mass.; and five grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Patricia (nee Sprague), and son, Rathburn Sprague Taylor. All who knew Charles are invited to attend an Open House in celebration of his remarkable life and kind, gentle spirit, on Thursday, September 1, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Wydnor Hall Inn, 3612 Old Philadelphia Pike, Bethlehem. The Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, Hellertown, is in charge of arrangements.
