M. shabodeho@aol.com May 18, 2011, 12:52 am Published in Lebanon Daily News on May 14, 2011 Russell G. Teahl PALMYRA Russell G. Teahl, 75, died Thursday, May 12, 2011, at the M.S. Hershey Medical Center. Born June 14, 1935, in Palmyra, he was a son of the late Ralph and Lucetta (Gampher) Teahl, and was also preceded in death by siblings, Alton, Edgar, Lester, and James Teahl, and Hilda Frazier. He was employed by the former W.L. Kreider and Sons Shoe Factory, Palmyra, and retired from the Hershey Italian Lodge. A 1954 graduate of Palmyra High School, he was a member of the Palmyra High School Sports Hall of Fame, the Lebanon Valley Sports Hall of Fame, Campbelltown American Legion #831, and Benton V. F. W #8317. A life member of Harrisburg Fraternal Order of Elks #12 and Palmyra Citizens Fire Company #1, he played Twilight Baseball and was an avid bowler. Surviving are his wife, Harriet C. "Peggy" (Wolfgang) Teahl; children, Douglas S. Teahl and wife, Tracie of Palmyra, Roxanne "Pixie" Boyer and husband, Rod of Mount Pleasant Mills, Laurie Deichert-Keller and husband, Dale of Palmyra, and Kathleen Walmer and husband, Chris of Palmyra; sisters, Myrtle Roach, Anna Mae Smith and husband, David, and Diane Shearer, all of Palmyra; eight grandchildren; a great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at Buse Funeral Home, 145 N. Grant St., Palmyra. Viewings will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, both at the funeral home. Interment will be in Grand View Memorial Park, Annville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
