Thierwechter, 89, of 2 Community Circle Palmyra, died Monday, March 28, 2011, in his residence. He was the husband of Mildred Bennetch Thierwechter, to whom he was married for 67 years. Born in Mt. Zion on June 23, 1921, he was the son of the late Miles and Carrie Webbert Thierwechter. Roy was a 1939 graduate of Fredericksburg High School and was a WWII veteran serving in the U.S. Navy. He retired after 47 years as a sales manager for College Hill Poultry of Lebanon and Berks Counties. Roy was a lifetime member of Zoar Lutheran Church where he was very active and was also an avid outdoorsman. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters Sandra L., wife of Dwain Alexander of Pittsburgh and Carol A., wife of Kenneth Stark of Glen Mills; two grandchildren, Chris Alexander and Jennifer wife of Andrij Luciw; and two great- grandchildren, Sebastian and Annica. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the DiMatteo Worship Center of the Lebanon Valley Brethren Home, 1200 Grubb Road Palmyra, PA 17078. Viewing will be held two hours prior to the service from 9 to 11 a.m. at the home. Interment will be held at 2 p.m. at Zoar Lutheran Cemetery, Freeport Road Lebanon (Mt. Zion). Officiants will be Pastor John Ludwig, Jr., his nephew, and Chaplain Norman Yeater. Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, Annville is in charge of the arrangements.
