M. shabodeho@aol.com March 6, 2011, 4:15 pm Published in Lebanon Daily News on March 5, 2011 William L. Thompson HERSHEY William Lee Thompson, 87, died Thursday, March 3, 2011, in the M.S. Hershey Medical Center. Born February 26, 1924, in Harrisburg, he was a son of the late Howard and Myrtle (Behrens) Thompson. He retired from Conrail and was a graduate of the former Hummelstown High School. A member of St. John's United Methodist Church, Grantville, he was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and a Purple Heart recipient. His life centered around his family and he also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. He was the widower of Pauline M. (Hetrick) Thompson, who died July 22, 2000, and was also preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Surviving are his children, Cynthia T., wife of Donald Fuller of Baton Rouge, La., Jeffrey S., husband of Carolyn Thompson of Hummelstown, and Thomas M., husband of Marijo Thompson of Mountain Top; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, March 7, 2011, at his church, 165 Firehouse Road, Grantville, preceded by a viewing from 10 a.m. Interment will be in Grantville Cemetery.
