M. shabodeho@aol.com December 14, 2011, 10:14 pm Published in Lebanon Daily News on December 7, 2011 George S. Vindich LEBANON George S. Vindich, 89, died Monday, December 5, 2011, at Cedar Haven. He was the husband of Arlene E. (Houtz) Vindich, to whom he was married 67 years on March 25, 2011. Born in Lebanon, on September 9, 1922, he was the son of the late Joseph and Teresa (Selman) Vindich. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and had been a foreman at the Lebanon Steel Foundry for 15 years, retiring in 1984. He was a member of Zion "Goshert's" U.C.C., Mt. Zion, and enjoyed golfing, bowling, basketball, and fishing. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Larry, husband of Judith Vindich of Schaefferstown; grandson, Jason, husband of Mary Vindich of Mt. Airy, N.C.; great- grandchildren, Matthew and Sasha Vindich; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Larry Vindich, Jr.; and several brothers and sisters. A memorial service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. from Zion "Goshert's" U.C.C., Mt. Zion. A visitation will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at the church. Grose Funeral Home, Myerstown, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
