(Groff) Weaver, 57, peacefully passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, December 23, 2011. She courageously fought a 21 year battle with cancer. She was the loving wife of Marlin R. Weaver. They were married 38 years in May 2011. Born in Ephrata, on December 30, 1953, she was the daughter of the late J. Martin and Mary Edna (Martin) Groff. A homemaker, she was a member of Springville Mennonite Church, (Weaverland Conferenece), and enjoyed flower gardening, entertaining guests, and spending time with family. Edith is survived by four sons, Dale L., husband of Janet (Burkholder) Weaver of Stevens, Daryl R., husband of Carolyn (Martin) Weaver of Lebanon, Dwayne A., husband of Sharon (Wenger) Weaver of Newmanstown, and Dervin C. Weaver at home; one daughter, Darleen, wife of Gregory S. Martin of Reinholds; 15 grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; two brothers, Kenneth M., husband of Irene (Weaver) Groff of Ephrata, and Kevin M., husband of Judy (Hoover) Groff of Manheim; four sisters, Elaine M., wife of John D. Weaver of Kinzers, Alverta M., wife of Ervin S. Martin of Mohnton, Marlene M., wife of Stephen L. Martin of Myerstown, Karen M., wife of Glenn Z. Musser of Fredericksburg; and a stepmother, Laura (Dreibelbis) Groff of Ephrata. A viewing will be held on Monday, December 26, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Farm Crest Chapel, Fairmount Homes, Farm Crest Drive, Ephrata. Funeral services will be held at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday from Farm Crest Chapel, with further services at 9:30 a.m. from Springville Mennonite Church (Weaverland Conference), Ephrata, with Ministers Paul Newswanger, Raymond Hoover, Walter Zimmerman, and Wilmer Martin officiating. Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery. Kindly omit flowers. Arrangements by Stradling Funeral Homes, Inc., Akron/Ephrata.
