She was a resident of Cedar Haven. Alice White (Huerbin) the youngest of eight brothers and sisters, was born in Pittsburgh. She moved to Lebanon to raise her family in the 1960's. Alice worked in many of the factories in Lebanon, retiring from Murray's Steaks. She came out of retirement to work for The Lutheran Mission Society giving caring and guidance to many children. That was the start of her new career in child care. Alice went on to guide, watch over, teach, nurture, and love many fine gentlemen and ladies of today. Alice was always giving of herself to help any and all charities, organizations, and people that crossed her path. Many will remember Alice for her doll collection, but mostly for her kind heart, giving ways, sense of humor, and her readiness to lend a hand. Her wonderful outlook on life and gracious ways will live on in the memories of all who knew and loved her. Alice loved her extensive doll collection as was evident throughout her home. Her other love was needlepoint. Many a person has been the recipient of her intricate and festive needlepoint work. Alice is survived by a sister, Millie, and two brothers, Regis and Gilbert. Two sisters, Melva and Clara, and two brothers, Jimmy and Buddy, preceded her in death. Immediate surviving family members consist of her husband, Robert White; her son, Russell Lewis and wife, Stephanie Kohr of Lebanon; daughters, Marsha Lewis and husband, Mitch Wise of Easton, Md., Norreen Wagner and husband Albert Wagner of Mt. Aetna, and Robin White and husband, Brian O'Donnell of Lebanon. The joy of her life was her grandchildren, Kristina Deutsch of Shippensburg, Jason Lewis of Lebanon, and Beth Wagner of Mt. Aetna. Grandson, Kenneth Hartmoyer, II of Lemoyne preceeded her in death in 2004. Her even greater joy was her great-grandchildren, Lydia, Kara, Hannah, Elena, Elijah, and Bryce. Lifelong friends, Ruth Stenger and Evie Scapiccia, also survive. Thanks to all the nurses, staff, etc. that cared for Alice during her stay at Cedar Haven. A special thanks especially to Rose. A viewing for Alice will take place in the Rohland Funeral Home, 508 Cumberland St., Lebanon, 17042 on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Published in Lebanon Daily News on February 2, 2011 This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/pafiles/ File size: 2.9 Kb
