Willard, 87, recently a resident of Twin Oaks Nursing Center, Campbelltown passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at the M.S. Hershey Medical Center. Born November 21, 1923, in Hershey, he was a son of the late Ray and Cora (Lingle) Williard. He retired from Hershey Entertainment and Resort Company and had previously worked for PP&L. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and the recipient of a Bronze Star Medal. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Hershey, and a 50 year member of Hershey Volunteer Fire Department where he was president from 19731976. Surviving are his wife of 67 years Geraldine M. (Whitmer) Willard; children, Terry L., husband of Evelyn Willard of Elizabethtown and Paula R., wife of Norman Clark of Grand Prairie, Texas; a brother John, husband of Carol Williard of Fort Worth, Texas; grandchildren, Matthew Willard, Tracee, wife of Joshua Matincheck, Craig Willard and Timothy Clark; great-granddaughters, Sydney and Adysyn Matincheck. He was preceded in death by brothers, Harry Williard, Richard Williard and Donald Willard. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday at his church, 64 W. Chocolate Ave., Hershey, preceded by a viewing from 9:30 a.m. Interment, with military honors, will be in Hershey Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hershey Volunteer Fire Department or to First United Methodist Church.
