Winters, 83, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 14, 2011, at his home with his loving son and daughter-in-law by his side. He was predeceased by his loving wife Ella Mae (Buchter) Winters in 2002. He was born Sunday, January 1, 1928, in Palmyra, to the late Howard and Arietta (Barley) Winters. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and retired from H.B. Reese Candy Company. He enjoyed playing the harmonica, blue grass country music, square dancing, mule riding, hunting and fishing. He loved his family and relished spending time with them, enjoying God's creations in the mountains and fields. He is survived by a son,, Theodore "Ted" W. Winters and his wife, Elaine E. of Palmyra; and a sister, Delphine Pavone of Hershey. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra, PA 17078 with Pastor David Alderson officiating. Family and friends are invited for viewing from 10 a.m. until time of the service.
