M. shabodeho@aol.com February 15, 2011, 9:19 pm Published in Lebanon Daily News on February 14, 2011 Michael Wright LEBANON Michael Wright, 57, was surrounded by his loving family as he passed peacefully into eternal rest after a courageous battle with an aggressive cancer. Mike was born in Kansas City, Missouri, and is survived by his mother, Pauline Wright; father, Eugene Wright (Denise); sister, Sue Steinmeyer of Tulsa, Oklahoma; sister, Marianna Doherty of Carlisle; brother, Jim Wright (Lorrie); sister, Liz Heilman (Eric) of Boiling Springs; brother, Dan Wright (Nanette); many nieces and nephews, (Alana Martinez, Erica and Zach Heilman, Kelly, Josh and Kevin Wright, and Brandy, Angie and Samantha Blauch), grand- nieces Savannah, Samia and Liliana Martinez, and Mya Blauch; as well as his good friend, AJ. Mike was raised in Detroit, Michigan, where he sang in the choir at the funeral of slain civil-rights activist, Viola Liuzzo, in 1965, with Martin Luther King, Jr. and Jimmy Hoffa in attendance. He moved to Ballwin, Missouri in 1968, and graduated from Parkway West High School in St. Louis County in 1972. He studied Music Theory & Literature at Meramec Community College in St. Louis in 1973. Mike moved to Lebanon in 1974 with his family, and went on to study Music Theory & Literature with a piano major, at West Chester University in West Chester. Mike was a creative genius in the kitchen, inspiring friendly food competitions among his siblings at family gatherings, where he always won. Mike was also a talented musician, composing music, and playing bass guitar in area bands. He was also a gifted artist, poet, and was a voracious reader. Mike worked for many years at Buell Envirotech/General Electric in Lebanon as an electrical assembler. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. from the Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, 618 E. Main St., Annville. Inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
