She was active and engaged in many pursuits during her life. She was a member of the Hershey Seventh Day Adventist Church. Her first born son, Harold Glen, preceded her passing at the age of two. For Kathleen, family was a focal point of her life and she made sure that everyone knew it. She was born February 13, 1921, in Grottoes, Va. Her children and their spouses survive her: Pamela and Darrell Griffin of Massachusetts, Bryan and Julie Yingst of Pennsylvania, and Robert A. and Bambi Yingst of Wisconsin. A memorial service will be held at the Hershey Seventh Day Adventist Church, 610 W. Chocolate Ave., Hershey 17033 on Saturday, October 1, 2011, at 4 p.m. Family and friends are invited for visitation from 3 p.m. until time of the service. Private burial will take place in Grantville Cemetery. Kathleen spent life loving her husband, Whitey, who died June, 1980. She is the last survivor of the children of Robert H. Via and Mary Elizabeth Via, and was a giver in every sense of the word. Many of those who felt the touch of Kathleen in their last days are silent tribute to her love. Sisters, Anna, Buelah, Blanch, and Lyle, and brothers, Chris, Frank, Johnnie, Paul, Charlie, and Robert, all felt the Kathleen touch in their lives. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren include D. Adam and Lisa Ruesch-Griffin, Maximillian and Theodore, and Bryan Kelly Yingst; and stepdaughters are: Carrie Cadavid and Stephanie Miller, Eliana, and Colin; Stacy and Wayne Whitacre, Courtney, Julia, Daniel, and Lauren; Wendy and Scott Eavenson, Amanda, Cory, and Sedona; Brady and Jill Yingst, Harper, and Rowan; Erin K.
