Zechman, 75, died Friday, August 19, 2011 in a motor vehicle accident in Union, Conn. She was the wife of Harold E. Zechman to whom she was married 55 years on March 31. Born in Bethel, on May 12, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Allen and Mary (Gibble) Batz. She was a 1954 graduate of Bethel High School and had been employed at Lynette's Candies, Womelsdorf, for 26 years, retiring in 2010. She was a member of St. John's "Host" Church, Bernville, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was also a member of the Marion Senior Citizens, 50 Plus Club of Bethel and the JG Travelers Club. She did babysitting in her home for many years, was an election official for Marion Township for many years and had been a leader for the former Stouchsburg Busy Bee 4-H Club. In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters, Sharon wife of Rodger Weida of Womelsdorf, Sherri wife of Kevin Sattazahn of Womelsdorf, Sheila wife of Skip Moyer of Annville; sons, Bruce Zechman, Sr. of Bethel and Brian husband of Kimberly Zechman of Wernersville; 19 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Blanche wife of Ray Brubaker of Palmyra; brothers, Gerald husband of Shirley Batz of Frystown, James husband of Barbara Batz of Myerstown, Jay husband of Ilene Batz of Bernville; sister-in-law, Lillian Batz of Hershey; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Batz. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 29, 2011 at 11 a.m. from Grose Funeral Home, 358 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown. There will be no viewing. Family will receive friends Monday from 9 to 11 a.m. Interment at St. Johns "Host" Cemetery, Bernville.
