M. shabodeho@aol.com July 29, 2011, 10:27 pm Published in Lebanon Daily News on July 23, 2011 Verna Zuck CLAY Verna Zuck, 89, passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2011, at Ephrata Manor. She was the widow of Christian W. Zuck, who passed away in 2003. Verna was the daughter of the late William K. and Lydia Ann (Garman) Redcay and was born in East Earl Township. She later lived in Honeybrook, and since 1964 had resided in Clay. She was a member of St. John's Center United Church of Christ in East Earl and was formerly employed by New Holland Machine, Terre Hill Manufacturing, and Hopeland Manufacturing. Surviving are three daughters, Barbara Ann, wife of Ray L. Fry of Reinholds, Shirley L., wife of David J. Merkey of Reinholds, and Sandra J. Shiffer of Ephrata; two sons, Ronald, husband of Joan M. (Seppi) Zuck, and Dennis, husband of Loretta A. (Herr) Zuck, all of Ephrata; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Verna was preceded in death by a son, Carl Dale Zuck; sisters, Anna Mellinger, Bertha Garrison, Elsie Trego, Emma Sweigart, and Ella Hollinger; and brothers, Harry Koch, Monroe Redcay, Elam Redcay, and William Redcay. Friends will be received at Paul L. Gravenor Home For Funerals, 100 W. Main St., Ephrata, from 7- to p.m. on Sunday, July 24, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Monday. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Monday at Gravenor's with the Rev. Bradley J. Haws officiating. Interment will be in Muddy Creek Cemetery, Swartzville.
