Alspaugh, 87, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 1, 2012, at Manor Care in Lebanon. He was the husband of the late Mary Ellen Lichtenberger Alspaugh. Born in Huntsdale, on August 17, 1925, he was the son of the late Clair and Cora Williamson Alspaugh. He was a member of the Little Kutztown Chapel, and was a minister with Christ's Ambassadors. For a period of 17 years, he along with his family were missionaries in Jamaica. He loved playing the guitar and mandolin and putting puzzles together. He is survived by his sons, Mark J. Alspaugh of Manchester, Vt., and David R. husband of Kathy Alspaugh of Richland; daughters, Rosanna wife wife of Emmett Thompson of Myerstown, Ruth E. Stump of Denver, Mary E. wife of Rex Klinedinst of Schuylkill Haven, Jean L. Stodart of Myerstown, Virginia M. wife of Jamie Mease of Newmanstown and Eva L. Alspaugh of Lebanon; brother, Robert Alspaugh of BC, Canada; sister, Cora May Anderson of Spokane, Wash.; 32 grandchildren; 98 great-grandchildren and one great-great- granddaughter. He was preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence Alspaugh; sisters, Leora Hardy and Martha Hill; son-in-law James Stump; daughter-in-law, June Alspaugh; and four great-grandchildren. Viewing will be on Tuesday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Myerstown Mennonite Church, 624 N. College St., Myerstown and. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Mountain House Bible Brethren Church, 7601 Wertzville Rd., Carlisle with a viewing one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. Please omit flowers. Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Jonestown, is in charge of the arrangements.
