Anderson, 83, passed away at Hospice Savannah on Tuesday, April 3, 2012. He was surrounded by his daughter, son-in-law, and two granddaughters. He was born March 28, 1929 in Sproul, Pa. He graduated from Richland High School in 1947. In 1948, he joined the Air Force from which he retired after 20 years of service as a Chief Master Sergeant. He was a Veteran of Korea and Vietnam. He then worked as a maintenance engineer supervisor for Georgia Regional Hospital, from which he later retired. He spent most of his life in Savannah and was a long time member of St. James Parish. Surviving are his wife, Josephine Roughen Anderson of Savannah, Ga.; his daughter, Debra Hissong (Curtis) of Savannah; two sons, Duane Anderson and Ernest Anderson; loving granddaughters, Gabrielle and Isabella Hissong; and several other grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Orva S. Anderson, and mother, Florence M. Schumaker. The family will be receiving friends Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel, Savannah.
