M. shabodeho@aol.com January 30, 2012, 7:39 pm Published in Lebanon Daily News on January 24, 2012 Elizabeth J. Arnold LEBANON Elizabeth (Betty) J. Arnold passed away on January 18, 2012. She was the beloved wife of the late Dr. George H. Arnold, a local dentist, who died in 1978. Born in Lebanon in 1918, she was the daughter of the late Ralph H. Behney, Esq., and the late M. Blanche Behney. A 1935 graduate of Lebanon High School, she also attended Penn State University. She was the loving mother of G. Jeffrey (Ann) Arnold, Irvington, Va., Elizabeth A. Hogan, Bethesda, Md., and Katharine M. (Darrell) Moyer, Etters. Also surviving are grandchildren, Jeffrey S. Falk (Coy Stout) Moss Beach, Calif., G. Christopher Arnold, Sherman Oaks, Calif., Margaret C. (Alex) Cudaback, Leesburg, Va.; Elizabeth J. Hogan, Esq., Washington, D.C.; and two great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces. Betty was actively involved in several local organizations throughout her life, including her service as regent of the Lebanon chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, a past president of the Junior Woman's Club, the Lebanon Woman's Dental Auxiliary, and the Woman's club of Lebanon. In addition, she was a member of the Good Samaritan Hospital Auxiliary for which she volunteered her time for many years in the auxiliary's used book store, as well as serving in many capacities during the hospital's annual Street Fair. She was also a member of the Lebanon County Historical Society, and volunteered her time assisting in its gift shop. Betty enjoyed extensive travel, and was a bridge enthusiast. Private interment is to be determined by the family. The Rohland Funeral Home, Inc., Lebanon, is handling the arrangements.
