  ANNVILLE TWP. John Wesley Bell, 84, Hill Farm Estate (Bethel Pointe), passed 
  away Thursday, February 16, 2012, at the Lebanon Good Samaritan Hospital. He 
  was born in Lebanon on October 25, 1927, son of the late Clement W. and Miriam 
  Smith Bell. He was a 1945 graduate of Lebanon High School. He was a Veteran of 
  WWII, having been drafted into the Army after graduation. He was stationed at 
  Ft. McClellan, Ala., and Ft. Lewis, Wash. After being honorably discharged as 
  a Corporal in 1947, he began an over 30 year career at the Lebanon Post 
  Office, mostly as a motor route driver. John was especially proud of his 
  safety record and 50 year membership in the National Association of Letter 
  Carriers. He was a member of the American Legion Post 559, Annville, and the 
  National Rifle Association. In the past decade he had walked over 10,000 
  miles. John is survived by his niece, Susan O'Neill Myer, wife of Norman Myer 
  of Fishers, Ind.; a great-nephew in Ohio; two great-nieces and three great-
  great-nephews, all of Indiana. He was preceded in death by sister, 
  Catherine "Kitty" Bell O'Neill. Private casket interment with full military 
  honors will be held at the convenience of the family at Indiantown Gap 
  National Cemetery, with Chaplain Kristal Smith, chaplain of the Good Samaritan 
  Hospital, officiating. Arrangements entrusted to James A. Porterfield, Ruffner-
  Porterfield Funeral Directors & Cremation Services, Ltd., Lebanon.
