"Joe" Boyer, 92, died on Wednesday, August 8, 2012, at Broad Mountain Nursing Center. He was born on Sunday, April 4, 1920, to the late Paul F. Boyer and Carrie Boyer-Rauch nee Peiffer in Lebanon. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ-Hamlin. He retired as a carpenter and was a veteran of the Army in World War II. He was a member of VFW and Retired Steelworkers Club. Joe enjoyed hunting, fishing and bowling . Surviving are wife, Mildred M Boyer nee Brightbill of Cleona; daughters, Kay, spouse of Dennis R. Schmehl of Lancaster, and Donna Garnett of Glen Burnie, Md.; sons, Neil, spouse of Terry L. Boyer of Lebanon, and Keith, spouse of Tina Boyer of Annville; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Rauch of Texas; and sisters, Marie Young of Lebanon, and Salesa, spouse of Raymond Calderon of Arizona. He was preceded in death by sisters, Verna Clay, Elizabeth Thierwechter, and Margaret Althouse; and brother, Richard Rauch. Viewing will be on Saturday, August 11, 2012, from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Paul's United Church of Christ-Hamlin, 129 Chestnut Hill Road, Fredericksburg. Funeral services will be on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will be at Klopp's Union Cemetery, Fredericksburg, following the service. Christman's Funeral Home, Inc. is honored to serve the family with the arrangements.
