M. shabodeho@aol.com May 27, 2012, 11:07 pm Published in Lebanon Daily News on May 17, 2012 Raymond Brentley CLEONA Retired Chief of Police, Raymond Brentley, 83, passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, in his home with his wife, Alvie, and son, Mark, at his side. He started his career as a patrolman for the Jamestown Police Department in 1953. His profession spanned 41 years, 25 of which were spent as the Chief in North Cornwall Township. Surviving are his wife, the former Alvie A. Nelson, to whom he was married on November 27, 1955; sons, Mark of Cleona, PA, Barry of Jamestown, N.Y., and Brad of Batavia, Ohio; grandchildren, Taylor and Michael Brentley, and Jennifer Wright of Jamestown, N.Y., Sara and Timothy Brentley of Batavia, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Evan Hanna, Alex Wright, Kaitlyn and Felicia Brentley of Jamestown, N.Y.; and neices and nephews. He was a member of the Church of the God Shepherd United Methodist Church, the Lebanon Fraternity of Police, PA, Chiefs of Police Association, Northeast Chiefs of Police Association, and former president of the Lebanon County Chiefs of Police. There will be no funeral services. Interment will be at Sunset Hill Cemetery, Lakewood, N.Y.
