Brunner Vera Jane (Eichelberger) Brunner, 86, formerly of Akron, went to be home with her Lord on Sunday, January 1, 2012. Born in Manheim Township, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Stark) Eichelberger and was the wife of John E. Brunner, Sr. She was a member of Grace E.C. Church, Akron. She enjoyed her friends and family and also enjoyed reading, cooking, and was a Phillies fan. Vera had worked as a seamstress for Binner Association in Schaefferstown and had also worked at Green Acres Laundromat. In addition to her husband, she is survived by four sons, John Brunner, Jr. of Florida, Jeffrey Brunner of Lititz, Barry Brunner of Illinois, and David Brunner of Manheim; a sister, Alverta Hartranft; 13 grandchildren; and eight great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Anne Geib; and two brothers, Earl and Raymond Eichelberger. Friends and family of Vera Brunner are invited to attend a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday at Grace Evangelical Congregational Church, 7th St., Akron, with Pastor Leslie Cool officiating. Arrangements are by Stradling Funeral Homes, Inc., Akron/ Ephrata.
