M. shabodeho@aol.com March 17, 2012, 4:04 pm Published in Lebanon Daily News on March 11, 2012 Ruth Krahe Buettner MYERSTOWN Ruth Krahe Buettner, 83, formerly of Euclid, Ohio, and New Jersey, died Friday, March 9, 2012, in the M.S. Hershey Medical Center, Dauphin Co. She was the wife of Carl W. Buettner, to whom she was married 23 years. Her first husband was Raymond Krahe, who died March 29, 1986. Born in Buffalo, N.Y., on October 20, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Clarence W. and Alma M. (Hoffman) Kraus. A 1946 graduate of Nardin Academy, Buffalo, N.Y., she worked as a secretary at Lehn & Fink in Montvale, N.J., for six years, retiring in 1988. She was a member of the Isabella Guild of the Knights of Columbus, Cleveland, and the CCW at Mary Gate of Heaven Catholic Church, Myerstown. In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters, Mary Ann, wife of Richard Palm of San Jose, Calif., Barbara Powers, fiancee of Michael Harris of East Lansing, Mich., Carolyn, wife of Kerry Barry of Dayton, N.J., Patricia, wife of Edwin Moke of Monroe, N.J., and Margaret, wife of Jack Rasmusson of Evergreen, Colo.; sons, Brian, husband of Jane Krahe of Rockland, Mass., William Krahe, husband of Lynn Mistretta of Scarborough, Maine, Martin, husband of Margaret Krahe of Raleigh, N.C., Raymond, husband of Cheryl Krahe of Olney, Md., Peter Krahe, friend of Greg Halek of Arvada, Colo., and Christopher, husband of Ann Marie Krahe of Ellicott City, Md.; stepdaughters, Anne Buettner of Cleveland, Ohio, and Susan, wife of Dale Ulrich of Ephrata; stepson, William Buettner, friend of Daniel Rayac of Columbus, Ohio; 39 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; sister, Carol Zammit of Louisville, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by grandsons, Gordon and Robert Powers; sisters, Elaine Considine, Jean Morgan, Marylou Kowalezyk, and Margaret Cunningham; and brothers, Clarence, Richard, Albert, and Donald Kraus. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. from Mary Gate of Heaven Catholic Church, 188 W. McKinley Ave., Myerstown. Friends may call Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Grose Funeral Home, 358 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown. Interment at Holy Cross Burial Park, East Brunswick, N.J.
