"Red" Camasta, 96, formerly of Lebanon, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2012, at Countryside Christian Community in Annville where he had resided for the past 2 years. Born in Lebanon on March 16, 1916, he was the son of Italian immigrants, Giuseppe and Maria Teresa LaPorta Camasta. He was a roofer and welder by trade having worked for many years at Bressler Metal Works in Lebanon and at Wilbur Chocolate Factory in Lititz. He was preceded in death by his wife Geraldine Goshert Camasta in 1999. They were married 58 years at the time of her passing. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Luke, Modesto and Anthony and sisters, Mary, Anna and Fannie. He was the last of his immediate family. He is survived by his five children; sons, Joseph and his wife, Arlene of Lebanon, Roy of Fredericksburg, Thomas and his wife, Bonita of Lebanon and daughters, Karen, wife of Stanley Risser of Lebanon and Susan, wife of Thomas Gates of Myerstown. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by those he left behind. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. is entrusted with the arrangements.
