Clouser, 64, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at the Veteran Administration Medical Center, Lebanon. He was the husband of Annie "Mae" (nee Lewis) Clouser. James was born in Pottstown, on March 11, 1948, a son of the late Wilma H. (Eshbach) and John A. Clouser. A U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, where he received the Bronze Star and Army Commendation medals, he worked as a Store Manager and Truck Driver at Empire Construction, Reading, and had managed the Empire store in Lebanon. He was a member of the Vietnam Veterans Chapter 131 "Last Patrol". In 1988 James joined with other members of VVA Chapter 131 to march back from the Vietnam Memorial in Washington, D.C., with the inscribed names of Berks County's fallen heroes in small palm-sized caskets made by (since deceased) Marine Gary Spalding. The names were later placed in the Vietnam Veterans' Memorial in Reading's City Park Veterans Grove James was a life active member of the Reading Motorcycle Club, Oley, and the American Motorcycle Association. He was a life member of the Vietnam Veterans of America and Disabled American Veterans. He was also a life member of Gilbertsville Fire Company, the Boyertown American Legion, the Birdsboro Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Liberty Fire Company, where he was a past President. James loved Potter County, which he visited since his youth, and dreamed about building a home on land he owned there. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. In addition to his wife, Mae, James is survived by a son, Jesse James Clouser of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two stepsons, Colonel Chris Zimmerman, husband of Corinne of Tampa, Fla., and Jeffrey Zimmerman, husband of Crystal of Pine Grove; two granddaughters; one grandson; four stepgrandsons; and one stepgranddaughter. He is also survived by six nieces; three nephews; and three brothers, Donald J. Clouser, husband of Rosalie of Lyon Station, Mark D. Clouser, husband of Sandra of Reading, and Dan J. Clouser, husband of Susan of Laureldale. Friends are invited to call Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 4 to 5 p.m. at the Feeney Funeral Home. Religious service will be at 5 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Interment with full military honors will take place Wednesday at Andrews Settlement Cemetery, Potter County. Arrangements entrusted to the John P. Feeney Funeral Home in Reading's Centre Park Historic District, 625 N. 4th St. at Centre Ave., Reading, PA 19601.
