M. shabodeho@aol.com June 23, 2012, 6:22 pm Published in Lebanon Daily News on June 15, 2012 LEBANON Harold Charles "Nutzer" Darcas, 78, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at his residence. He was the husband of Margaret M. (Schauer) Darcas and the late Jean Hunsicker Darcas and the late Florence Barnes Drupp Darcas. Born in Fredericksburg, on July 24, 1933, Harold was a son of the late Walter and Gertrude E. (Nye) Darcas. He had worked for the former Mader's Furniture, Aquiler Arco Station and Lebanon Valley Engraving. He was a school bus driver for St. Mary's and Lebanon Catholic Schools. Harold was a member of the Friendship Fire Hall and a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He served as a past president of the Hi-Lo Camping Club. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed camping, traveling, bowling and watching the Lebanon Catholic High School Basketball games. In addition to his wife, Margaret he is survived by four sons: Dale H., husband of Orly Darcas of Nevada; Donald G., husband of Jean Darcas of Palmyra; Dennis L., husband of Kathy Darcas of Utah and Kevin G. Darcas of Bethel; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by four stepdaughters, Connie, wife of John Bowman; Charlotte, wife of Donald Stoudt; Charmaine, wife of Daniel Zehring and Judi, wife of Robert Long; two stepsons, Charles, husband of Vicky Allwein and Bradley, husband of Anne Allwein; 21 stepgrandchildren; 30 step-great-grandchildrenp; and several nieces and nephews. He was the last of his immediate family. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Christi Lynn Darcas; a brother, Kenneth W. Darcas and a sister, Lucille Darcas Heckard. Funeral Mass Monday morning, June 18, 2012, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 2 N. 8th St., Lebanon. Viewing hours Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. 126 S. 9th St., Lebanon and Monday morning from 9 to 10 at the church. Interment at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Fredericksburg.
