She was the wife of Larry P. Edwards. Born in Shenandoah on January 5, 1939, Patricia was a daughter of the late Thomas F. and Marguerite (McCaughey) Ryan. She was 1959 graduate of Pottsville Hospital School of Nursing. She had worked as a registered nurse at the Lebanon VA Medical Center, Lebanon Sanitarium, Visiting Nurses of Lebanon County, Wernersville State Hospital and Indiantown Gap during the Cuban refugee immigration. She was a former PA State nurse inspector and code inspector for the Lebanon Housing Authority. She retired from the Masonic Homes, Elizabethtown. She was a member of St. Mary's Church and the Lebanon County Democratic Party. She enjoyed thrift shopping, watching TV and old movies, theater, playing scrabble, listening to music, reading, and singing. Her family loved listening to her beautiful singing voice. She loved animals, especially greyhounds, her dog Casey and her cat Wheezy. In addition to her husband, she is survived by four children: Joseph P. Bergen, of Harrisburg; Cheryl Bergen, wife of Greg Begg, of Pittsburgh; Thomas P., husband of Jessica Johnson, of Sinking Spring; Melanie R. Johnson, of Harrisburg; 12 grandchildren: Bridget, Maura, Molly, Michael, Joey, Margaret, and Daniel Begg, all of Pittsburgh; Marcus and Seth Reinheimer of Sinking Spring; Ryan, Grace, and Allison Johnson also of Sinking Spring; four step children: William Edwards, Jan Mutek, Shawn Edwards and Jeffrey Edwards; six step grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Patricia M. Ryan of Sebastian, Fla.; two nephews: Thomas Ryan III and Timothy Ryan; and one niece, Eileen Ryan Emmanuel. She was preceded in death by stepfather, Paul L. Phillips; stepmother, Claire H. Ryan; and a brother, Thomas F. Ryan II. Funeral Mass Thursday 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 2 N. 8th St., Lebanon, 17046. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Viewing hours Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., 126 S. 9th St., Lebanon 17042.
