  MYERSTOWN Betty J. Evans, 69, formerly of Pohatcong Township, passed away 
  Sunday, August 19, 2012, in Hershey Medical Center in Hershey. Born May 1, 
  1943, in Phillipsburg, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Russell Frantz 
  and Catherine and Alva Hall. She was employed in the accounting department of 
  AT&T in Bedminster before her retirement. Previously she was employed by Riegel 
  Paper Co. and Koh-I-Noor in Bloomsbury. Betty was a 1961 graduate of 
  Phillipsburg High School. She enjoyed camping, cooking and traveling. Betty was 
  a former member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Riegelsville. She is survived 
  by her beloved husband, John; a son, John D. and his wife, Nina, of Macungie; a 
  daughter, Denise M. Shoemaker and her husband, Douglas, of Myerstown; three 
  brothers, Ron and his wife, Marsha, of Webb City, Mo., Francis "Skip" and his 
  wife, Linda, of Center Valley, and Thomas and his wife, Carol, of Bath; a 
  sister, Diane Kennedy and her husband, William, of Phillipsburg, N.J.; three 
  grandchildren, Benjamin, Emily and Damon; and her dog, Annabell. Funeral 
  services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in the Doyle-Devlin Funeral Home, Inc., 
  695 Corliss Avenue, Phillipsburg. Visitation will be held Thursday from 6 to 8 
  p.m. in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Society or 
  American Cancer Society.
