M shabodeho@aol.com September 23, 2012, 8:35 pm Published in Lebanon Daily News on September 21, 2012 LEBANON Irene Mary (Danko) Farrell, 97, passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2012, at Cedar Haven Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Edward F. "Scrapper" Farrell, Jr. Born in Catasauqua, on November 4, 1914, Irene was a daughter of the late Stephen and Helen (Procak) Danko. She was a member of St. Mary's Church, where she was active in the Council of Catholic Women and the Legion of Mary. She is survived by three children, Dennis M., husband of Eileen Farrell, of Coronado, Calif., Catherine H., wife of Martin Horner, of York, and Mary Patricia Farrell, of Charleston, W.Va.; seven grandchildren, Ted Farrell, Sean Farrell, Tim Farrell, Devin Farrell, Brendan Farrell, Scott Horner and Brian Horner; two great-grandchildren, Colin Horner and Teddy Farrell; one brother, Edward, husband of Jean Danko of Catasauqua; one sister, Mary Louise, wife of Manis DaRe, of Bethlehem; also several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Edward F. "Chuck", husband of Ilse Farrell, of Jenkintown; four brothers: Andrew, Stephen, Daniel and Bernard Danko and one sister, Agnes Burke. Funeral Mass Monday, September 24, 2012, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 2 N. 8th St., Lebanon, 17046. Interment at St. Lawrence Calvary Cemetery in North Catasauqua, PA, 18032. Viewing hours Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., 126 S. 9th St., Lebanon, 17042 and Monday morning from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary's Church in Irene's memory.
