M shabodeho@aol.com September 16, 2012, 12:31 pm Published in Lebanon Daily News on September 10, 2012 ANNVILLE Robert E. Fasnacht, 79, died Sunday, September 9, 2012 at his residence. He was the husband of Elizabeth A. Benz Fasnacht with whom he celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary this past June. Born in N. Annville Twp. on March 30, 1933, he was the son of the late Allen V. and Myrtle O. Troutman Fasnacht. For over 35 years, he was the self-employed owner of Fasnacht & Son Painting. Bob was a U.S. Army veteran of Korea and a 1950 graduate of Jonestown High School. He was a member of Christ Church United Church of Christ, Annville, where he served as the Sunday School Superintendant, Deacon, Elder and attended the Men's Bible Study Class. He was also a member of Mt. Lebanon Lodge #226, F. & A.M. serving as Worshipfull Master in 2001, Harrisburg Consistory, Zembo Temple Shrine serving as Potentate in 2002, Zembo Mounted Patrol, Lebanon County Shrine Club serving as president in 1992, member and past president of the Colorado Mule Riders, served as president of the International Shrine Horse Patrol in 2000, and was named Horseman of the Year in 2003, and was the Mid-Atlantic Horseman of the Year in 2005. Bob was the last surviving charter member of the Annville-Cleona Lions Club, where he served as treasurer for many years and a life time member of the Annville American Legion Post 559. Surviving in addition to his wife, is a daughter, Kathy wife of Scott Meyers of Palmyra; brother, Dr. Daniel W. husband of Dorothy Fasnacht of Hyndman; three sisters, Dolores Wolfe of Annville, Shirley wife of Robert Hoerner of Annville, Judith wife of Donald Barchet of Annville; three grandchildren, Bryan and Jared Meyers, Leeann Meyers; a great- grandson, Noah Camacho; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael D. Fasnacht; and a sister, Jo Anna Zimmerman. A brief visitation and Masonic Service will be held on Friday at 6 p.m. from Christ Church United Church of Christ, 200 S. White Oak St., Annville, 17003. A memorial service will be held at Christ Church on Saturday at 2 p.m. with interment being held at the convenience of the family in Mt. Annville Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Christ Church, the Annville-Cleona Lions Club, Annville, Pa., or the Endowment Fund at Zembo Temple, Harrisburg, Pa. Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, Annville, is in charge of arrangements.
