Fink, 90, of Mennonite Home Communities in Lancaster and formerly of Hershey, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 4, 2012. Born in Kutztown and daughter of the late Jacob and Ella (Bieber) Hoch, she was preceded in death by brothers, Hugh, Hiram and Victor, and sister, Marguerite. Upon graduation from Kutztown High School and Allentown Business College, Clarabel worked as a bookkeeper for a farm equipment business in Kutztown. It is there she met her future husband, Ralph W. Fink. Ralph and Clarabel were married nearly 60 years until his death in 2005. Together, Clarabel and her husband served as houseparents at the Milton Hershey School from 1952 to 1983, where they guided the lives of 297 students. Mr. and Mrs. Fink were named Houseparents of the Year at the Milton Hershey School in 1980. Following their retirement as houseparents, they served as hosts greeting visitors at the school's Founders Hall and retired in 2002 with over 50 years of service to the school. For her service, Clarabel was named an Honorary Alumnus of the Milton Hershey School. Surviving Clarabel are her son, Stacey M. Fink, MD, PhD and daughter-in-law, Karen L. Ketner-Fink of Lititz; as well as niece, Janice Osborne of Lancaster; nephew, Hiram Hoch of Reading; and nephew, Robert Rebling of Westfield, Ind. The family expresses their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Mennonite Home Communities for the loving care, friendship and support given to Clarabel since her stroke in 2005. Clarabel was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Hershey. Her pastor, the Rev. Cindy A. Brommer will officiate at her funeral service on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Hoover Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Hershey. Viewing will begin one hour prior to the service. Burial will be private at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
