M. shabodeho@aol.com April 17, 2012, 1:08 am Published in Lebanon Daily News on April 14, 2012 Mary Jane Geib CORNWALL Mary Jane Geib, 92, formerly of Mount Gretna, died Sunday, April 8, 2012, at Cornwall Manor. She was the wife of L.W. Geib, who died in September, 2007. They had been married for more than 65 years and their devotion to one another was lovely to see. They shared a great fondness for hiking, camping, and family activities. Born May 4, 1919, in Lebanon, to the late Cyril and Ruth Meyers Werth, Mary Jane was a 1937 graduate of Lebanon Catholic High School and retired after 40 years as a voter registrar for Lebanon County. She worshiped in the Roman Catholic faith. She was a loving and generous daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and was happiest spending time with her family. She was there for her parents and sister as they grew old, and for her daughter and granddaughter as they grew up and started families of their own. She delighted in entertaining her three great- granddaughters and sharing her favorite games and recipes with them. Her family was her life and she will be dearly missed. Surviving are her daughter, Susan, wife of Daniel Moyer of Mount Gretna; her granddaughter, Emily, wife of Dr. Daniel Walting, II of West Nanticoke; her great-granddaughters, Madeleine Walting, 12, Margaret Walting, 10, and Meredith Walting, 4; a brother, Cyril Werth, Jr. and his wife, Mary of Lebanon; sisters-in-law, Helen Pattishall of Cornwall Manor, and Betty Kreider of Palmyra; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Helen E. Pleiss; brothers, William, Thomas, Charles, and James Werth; and a nephew, James Werth. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 5, in the chapel at Cornwall Manor. Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., Lebanon, entrusted with the arrangements.
