Geissinger, formerly of Myerstown, passed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2012, in the Hospice Unit of the Lebanon VA Medical Center. He was the husband of Joyce M. (Stoltz) Geissinger. Born in Iowa City, Iowa on November 22, 1930, William was the son of the late Elbert H. and Phyllis Battey Geissinger. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War and a member of the American Legion Post 0915 in Fredericksburg. He was a lifetime member of the Elstonville Sportman's Association. He retired from Alcoa with more than 38 years of service in the maintenance department. He was an avid problem solver, known for his ability to create, repair, advise, and fix just about anything. In addition to his wife Joyce, he is survived by his brother, David E. Geissinger and his wife, Eleanor of California; his stepson, Todd B. Stoltz and his wife, Jodi of Jonestown; his son, William T. Geissinger and his wife, Rhonda of Connecticut; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family, with interment at a later date in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice Unit, VA Medical Center, Lebanon, PA. Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., Lebanon, is in charge of arrangements.
