M shabodeho@aol.com March 3, 2012, 9:48 pm Published in Lebanon Daily News on February 27, 2012 Pauline Gerace HARRISBURG Pauline Zannino Gerace, 92, formerly of Palmyra, died Sunday, February 26, 2012, at the Colonial Park Care Center in Harrisburg, with her family in attendance. She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Gerace, Sr.; infant daughter, Anna Marie; and sons, Michael and Anthony. She is survived by her son, Joseph and his wife, Joan of Northfield, N.J., and their daughters, Melissa, Stephanie, Emily, and Katherine; daughter, Donna Wevodau and her husband, Fred of Harrisburg, and their sons, Anthony and Zachary, and Fred's brother, Raymond Wevodau; daughter, Cecelia Rose and her husband, James of Finksburg, Md., and their children, Anne Marie, Matthew, Michael, and Joseph; and daughter-in-law, Evelyn Gerace of State College, widow of Anthony Gerace, Jr. She is survived by sisters, Stella Shreves of Nutter Fort, W.Va., Marcie Smith of Bridgeport, W.Va., and Ange Krosmico of Bridgeport, W.Va.; devoted nieces, Philomena Krosmico and Maureen Sparvari; and three great-grandchildren. She was born Easter Sunday, April 20, 1919, in Clarksburg, W.Va., daughter of the late Joseph and Filomena Zannino. She worked for many years in the Palmyra Middle School cafeteria. She was a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit in Palmyra. She was also a member of the Central Penn Doll Club. She was a gifted artist known for her pastel portraits, watercolor, and oil paintings, cake decorating, and porcelain dolls. Her passion in life was her dedication to her family, especially her grandchildren. Her devotion to Our Lord and the Blessed Mother enabled her to be ready and to pass peacefully with them. Family and friends are invited for viewing on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra 17078. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, March 1, at 10 a.m. with a viewing from 9 a.m. until time of the service at The Church of the Holy Spirit, 245 W. Pine St., Palmyra, PA 17078 with Father James F. Podlesny as celebrant.
